DANNY LEE KIMBLER, 87, of Port Jefferson, passed away at 3:43 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Wilson Health. He was born on December 20, 1937 in Greenup, Kentucky, the son of the late Eddie and Rebecca (Pruitt) Kimbler. On August 18, 1956 he married the former Mary A. Cain, who preceded him in death on August 6, 2024.
Danny is survived by 8 children, Brenda (Doyle Jr.) Stiver of Port Jefferson, Glenda (Mike Driscoll) Barrett of Houston, Aaron (Sheila) Kimbler of Sidney, Regina (Rick) Phelps of Sidney, Jefferson Kimbler of Port Jefferson, Mary Jane Kimbler of Urbana, Carrie Nation of Sidney, and Sherry Kimbler of Anna; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Juanita Jester, and Joyce Cates. He was preceded in death by son, Mark Kimbler; 3 grandchildren, Sherry R. Kimbler, Tosha Barrett, and Trenton Gent; and 3 brothers, Donald, Kenneth, and Charles Kimbler.
Danny retired from Copeland Corporation after 30 years of dedicated work in labor maintenance. A gifted musician, he had an extraordinary talent for playing stringed instruments, with the banjo and guitar being his favorites. Known fondly as "The Music Man," he played in a band for many years, sharing his love of music with everyone around him. Danny also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found joy in fishing. Above all, he cherished time spent with his large and ever-growing family, who brought him the greatest happiness.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 1 P.M. at Northtowne Church of God with Pastor Carl McNeill officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
