Connie Bishop

Connie Blackburn Bishop, of Sidney, peacefully gained her wings on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at home surrounded by her son and daughter. She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on October 16, 1948, the daughter of the late Buster “Buck” and Peggy (Belcher) Blackburn.

Connie was a 1967 graduate of Minford High School and a graduate of Southeastern Business College.  Connie worked for years at Fairhaven County Home in Sidney where her passion was taking care of the elderly.  She retired from AmeriSource in Pickerington, Ohio where she was a quality control specialist.

Connie is survived by her three children, David Bishop-Gilligan of Sidney, Tammy Bishop of Sidney and Michelle (Todd) Colley of Minford; along with three grandchildren, Dustin (Michelle) Cornett of Sidney, Dillion (Brianna) Cornett of Sidney and James "JD" (Haley) Colley of Minford; nine great-grandchildren; fur baby, Taz; and life companion, David McGill.

Connie is also survived by two sisters; Margaret (Doug) Gillem of Pemberton, Annette Smith of Minford and two brothers; Perry (Rosie) Blackburn of Minford and Gary Blackburn of Jackson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Connie was preceded in death by both her parents; as well as one brother, Larry Blackburn of Minford; one grandson, Nicholaus (Nickle) Colley of Minford; one nephew, Michael Smith of Minford; and a son-in-law, Patrick Gilligan of Portsmouth.

There was nothing more important to Connie than her children and family.

After cremation, the family will hold a burial service at White Cemetery in the Spring for family and friends followed by a celebration of Connie's Journey of Life.  The family will notify when the date is set.
