ClaraBelle M. Kerber, age 93 of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at her home. She was born on September 11, 1929 in Botkins, Ohio, the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (King) Steinke. On June 6, 1957, Clara married Louis M. Kerber, who preceded her in death February 24, 2022 after 64 years of marriage.
Clara is survived by her loving family; children, Linda (Dave) Temple of Sidney, Mike Kerber of Sidney, Lori (Tim) Shark of Stow, Lisa (Randy) Shroyer of Sidney and Joe Kerber of Ft. Loramie ; grandchildren, T.J. (Hannah) Shark, Samantha Kendall, Matthew Shroyer, Morgan Shroyer, Dan Temple, Mitchell Shroyer and Taylor Shark; great-grandchild, Paisley; step-grandchildren Tiffany and Travis (Stacy) Temple; step-great-grandchild Sophie, and sister, Shirley A. Fullenkamp.
Mrs. Kerber was a 1947 Graduate of Botkins High School. She was a 71 year member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority in which she served as president of the Alpha Psi Chapter twice, as well as other elected and appointed offices. She was Deputy Auditor for 22 years for the Shelby County Auditor’s Office and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Clara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved gathering her family together for holidays, birthdays and weeklong camping trips. Any occasion to come together to make enough food to feed an army and play endless games and cards. She was an avid reader and knitter (everyone has an afghan or two!) She relished her trips with Louie to Tarpon Springs, Florida for four months every year for 26 years.
She attended countless sporting events, dance recitals, and school functions of her grandchildren and never missed a trip to an amusement park, zoo, or family outing. She will never be forgotten as our gatherer, camp leader, Florida host, Christmas-present-buyer, birthday-song-singer, pie baker, 31 winner and just the best mom and grandma ever.
She is truly loved and will be greatly missed.
