Charles Wesson (Charlie, or Stukie), age 85, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, after a short stay in Soin Medical Center.
Charlie was born on February 3, 1938, in Nashville Arkansas to the late Vernon and Susie (Gamble) Wesson. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Tyree, and Hulen Wesson: two sisters Margie Morena and Susie Glover.
Charlie attended Willowdell Elementary School, Kettlersville Elementary School, and Anna High School. He was a member of Mr. Vernon Baptist Church and the junior choir.
Charlie loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved “good” home cooking, enjoyed roller skating, dancing, fishing, and for many years had a lawn care business of which he was very passionate. He also enjoyed contemporary Christian music.
Charlie is survived by his daughter Charlene Edwards, and three siblings: Ann (Fred Williams, deceased) Wesson of Winchester, California; Emma Jean (Wayne, deceased) Carr of Carson, California; Nettie Wesson of Winchester, California; nephews Marcus (Amy) Glover, Sidney, Ohio; Calvin Wesson of Riverside, Ohio; John Carr of Troy, Ohio and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Charlie was well loved and will be dearly and greatly missed.
Services will be at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2024, with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM (Noon), Randy Reed officiating.
