Charles L. Waldsmith

CHARLES L. WALDSMITH, age 82 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 1:01 AM at Brookdale Piqua. He was born on September 4, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Lester R. and Margaret (Kenworthy) Waldsmith. On December 29, 1976, he married Sharon (Mc Cain) who preceded him in death October 23, 2011.

He is survived by four children: Paul (Terry) Waldsmith of Urbana, OH, Leon (Betsy) Waldsmith of Piqua, OH, Kate (Carlos) Scarpero of West Carrollton, OH, and Karen (Dan) Cole of Parma, OH, stepdaughters: Kendra (Robert) Smith of Sidney, OH, and Amanda Krouskop of Florida, four grandchildren: Ellie (Alex) Miler, David Scarpero, Morgan Thurmond, and Aidan Smith, two great-grandchildren: Will and Max Miler, and brother, Bryan Waldsmith of Darlington, SC. He was preceded in death by brother, Daniel Waldsmith.

Mr. Waldsmith served his country in the United States Air Force from November 30, 1960, to November 25, 1964. Following his service, he worked for 48 years with Dayton Power & Light.

In Keeping with his wishes, Charles will be cremated, and a Private Graveside Service will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
