Charles J. Maggart

CHARLES J. MAGGART, 79,  of Troy, passed away at 4:29 P.M. Monday, January 27, 2025 at Kettering Health in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on November 20, 1945 in Gilroy, California, the son of the late Charles and Lucille (Pittman) Maggart. Charles was married to Susan (Ewing) Maggart who preceded him in death on February 15, 2012.

Charles is survived by one daughter, Kelly (David) Morales of Palm Bay, FL; step-daughter, Lori (Brian Hartley) Allen of Troy, OH; three grandchildren, Kellisa, Emma and Zacariah; and one sister, Becky Johnston, of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Maggart; and step-son, Jon Snider.

Charles served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Troy VFW, Troy AMVETS, and the Eagles Lodge of Troy. Charles retired after 31 years as a pattern maker at Hartzell Propeller in Piqua, Ohio. After retiring, he worked part-time at Dave Arbogast in Troy, where he valued the chance to continue serving others. He formed great relationships with customers and coworkers, who all appreciated his presence. Charles was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
