Charles Kimbro

CHARLES R. KIMBRO, 90, of Sidney passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 7:25 PM at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born on December 7, 1928 in Jackson Center, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Lucille (Green) Kimbro. On March 9, 1996, Charles married the former Mary Thorpe, who survives.

He is survived by three children, John Kimbro and Kathy of Sidney, Alfreda Marie (Elder) Davis of Georgia and Sonya Ann (Rick) Martz of Delaware, OH and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, the former Geneva Williams, two children and five siblings.

Mr. Kimbro retired from LeRoi Industries after 32 year as an Electronic Technician. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1945-1949. Charles was very artistic, who loved to draw and do oil paintings. He enjoyed speaking/reading in German and playing Hockey in his younger years. His favorite thing to do was to go to nursing homes to visit his friends.

Charles was a member of Cyrene A.M.E. Church 227 W. Ash St Piqua, OH 45356 where Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 20, 2018 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Brenda Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Friends may visit at the church from 10 AM up until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cyrene A.M.E.
