Charles Dan Elsner

CHARLES “DAN” ELSNER, 84, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 5:32 PM at his residence. He was born on February 13, 1939 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Warren and Ruth (Harp) Elsner. On October 26, 1963, Dan married the former Vicki Fogt, who survives.

He is survived by two children, Debbie (Mike) Patterson and Lynn (Tim) Pitchford both of Sidney; three grandchildren, Reece, Cole and Olivia Pitchford; brother, Steve (Penny) Elsner, brother-in-law, Dick Clark and sister-in-law Patsy Fogt. Dan was preceded in death by son, Brian Elsner, sister, Betsy Clark, brother-in-law, Terry Fogt and sister-in-law, Jackie Beach.

Mr. Elsner retired from Alcoa Corporation working as a Logistics Coordinator. Dan enjoyed golfing at Shelby Oaks golf course in his spare time. He was also an active member in IUTIS Club as a past coach and even grew up in it as a former player. Dan was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday September 7, 2023 at 12 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church 120 W. Water St Sidney with Rev. Steve Edmiston officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Friends may visit from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Wilson Health Hospice in Dan’s memory.
