Cary Donald Butts

Cary Donald Butts, a hardworking man who truly embodied the spirit of a handyman and jack of all trades, passed away on June 12, 2026. He was born in Greenville, Ohio, and graduated from Piqua City schools and Joint Vocational School in 1990. With quiet skill and determination, he could fix, build, and solve problems that others could not.

He worked at Panasonic, then Spartech, and later at B&F Plastics in Richmond. Life was not always easy for Cary, yet he carried it with strength and dignity. Shaped by experience, he kept his circle close and was deeply valued by the few who were let in. He may not have found what he was looking for, but he cherished the connections that mattered. Though he could seem tough on the outside, those who knew him well found a gentle heart.

He is remembered most by his brother C.J. and his friend and supervisor Kelly, as well as his father Jim and stepmother Shari, and by C.J.’s family: Young Eun, Ellie, and Dylan. Sash, who was with him for over ten years, and Motor and Shy, who stayed with him in the end, were his beloved companions. Cary is now at peace, resting forever.
