CAROLYN P. GROSSMAN, 89, of Sidney, passed away at 11:25 A.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1934 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Carolyn (Maurer) Spangler. On July 16, 1982 she married Thomas A. Grossman, who preceded her in death on December 2, 2017.
Carolyn is survived by four children, Larry (Lisa) Schroer, Kathleen Lambert, Mark Schroer, all three of Sidney, and Steven Schroer of Dayton; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; four brothers, Phillip (Susan) Spangler, Darrell (Faye) Spangler, Daniel (Susan) Spangler, and Donnie (Judy) Spangler; one sister, Sue (Don) Fair; and sister-in-law, Linda Spangler. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Schroer; and five siblings, Margorie Richards, James Spangler, John Spangler, Henry Spangler, and Edward Spangler.
Carolyn was retired from Kroger where she worked as a customer service manager for more than 25 years. She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed making clothing, dolls, and curtains. Carolyn’s family was her greatest joy. Any reason was a good reason to get the family together and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 4 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 P.M. until the time of service. Carolyn’s final resting place will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
