Carol Weidner Obituary

CAROL JUNE WEIDNER, age 92 of Houston, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 9:00 AM at her home. She was born on June 9, 1931, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leo and Winifred (Toland) Monger.

On October 16, 1992 she married Charles Weidner who survives along with two children: Julie (Bill) Christian of Sidney, and Kay (Greg) Barlow of New Knoxville, step-children: Butch (Nona) Weidner, Keith (Sherie) Weidner, Jeff (Polly) Weidner, Kevin (Angie) Weidner, and Mark (Emily) Weidner, nephews, Tom (Tonya) Miller, and Scot (Michelle) Miller, seven step-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister, Cathryn Miller, brother-in-law, Richard Miller, and son-in-law, Jack Oakley.

Mrs. Weidner was a Sidney High School Graduate class of 1949. She worked as Secretary for Judge Lewis; was a Nurse’s Aide OB for Wilson Memorial Hospital and served as a Home Health Aide for Wilson Health.

Carol loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going out for family dinners and having picnics in her backyard. She also enjoyed having lunch with her daughters after a fun day of shopping.

Carol enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cross stitching, going for drives with her husband, Charlie, and stopping for ice cream. She belonged to a card club that began in 1949 with her high school friends and continued until her death. These ladies were her very special friends.

Carol was an animal lover who rescued many cats and nursed them back to health. She was Past Treasurer of the Shelby County Humane Society and was a member of New Knoxville Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Gaertner officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
