CAROL A. CROMES, age 91 of Quincy, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at 10:35 AM at Shelby Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 30, 1931, in Maplewood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Mae (Pence) Wildermuth. On October 20, 1979, she married William "Bill" Cromes who preceded her in death October 26, 2014.
She is survived by three children: Judy Wolfe of Springfield, Bruce (Teresa) Rose of Quincy, and Tammy Rose of Springfield, four stepsons including Keith Cromes of St Marys, four grandchildren: Kevin (Ann) Wolfe, Kimberly Rosales, Ryan (Rebekah) Rose, and Adam (Rhiannon) Rose, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Terri Linnean, and three brothers: Clarence, Herbert, and Hugh Wildermuth.
Carol graduated from Sidney High School. In her early years she worked as a dairy farmer. In 1974 she started work at Airstream in Jackson Center where she retired in the early 1980s. Her early retirement allowed her to enjoy spending six months out of the year in Bradenton, FL with her husband Bill. She was an elegant yet simple woman who loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends over the dinner table. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Shelly Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
