Carol E. (Swain) Bowman

CAROL E. BOWMAN, age 86 of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 8:32 PM at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 22, 1935 in Stearns, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Elmer and Gertie (Coffey) Swain. She was married to Hollen V. Bowman who preceded her in death November 20, 2001.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Deatherage, and Debra (John) Kendall both of Sidney; brother, Harold (Jeanette) Swain of Oxford, OH; six grandchildren, Shelly (Greg) Coverstone, Brian (Kristy) Kendall, Amy (Robert) Jones, Charles Deatherage, Samuel Deatherage, and Brandon Kendall, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister, Betty Jo Ball, brother, Joe Darrel Swain, son-in-law, Jack Deatherage, and great-granddaughter, Ashlee Coverstone.

Carol retired from Copeland Corporation/Emerson Climate Technologies after 51 years of faithful service. She enjoyed crocheting, making blankets for all her children and grandchildren. In the past, she liked riding motorcycles with her husband, camping, and cooking. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Collett officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 AM until the time of service.
