CARL O. SHARP, 88, of Sidney, passed away at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Shelby Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on August 22, 1937 in Union City, Ohio, the son of the late Ward and Erma (Morey) Sharp.
On June 16, 1962 he married the former Anne Brandewie, who survives along with three children, Michael Sharp of Sidney, Angela Sharp of Columbus, and Edward Sharp of Sidney; three grandchildren, Rocio (Justin) Walden, Catherine Dolder, and John Dolder; one sister, Elaine Marker; one brother, Edward (Jacqueline) Sharp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He spent most of his career in the trucking logistics management field, including 20 years with Subler Trucking, and later for Continental Express in Sidney before retiring. He was a longtime member of both the Elks and the Knights of Columbus.
Carl was an avid camper, a passion he shared with his beloved wife, Anne, along with traveling on cruises. Together, they explored much of North America, with a special fondness for Alaska and a deep love for Tennessee, which they returned to often.
Above all, Carl was a devoted family man. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Carl was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. with Father John Tonkin officiating. Burial with military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:15 A.M.
