Beloved husband, father, grandpa and friend Bruce Shultz passed peacefully in Sidney, OH on August 16th, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents Otis Shultz and Victorine Blackwell Shultz and his son Todd Shultz.
Bruce is survived by his wife Claudia Clawson, son Jon Shultz, grandsons Zach Shultz, Stephen Shultz, Cayman Shultz, Maclain Shultz, Jack Shultz and grandchildren Sawyer, Sierra and Sullivan Shultz.
Bruce was an avid shooting enthusiast, outdoorsman and naturalist. His love of reading and learning guided his entire life with his quenchless thirst for knowledge. Bruce's greatest joy was connecting with his family and many friends to talk and discuss his and their many varied interests.
He loved his times hunting upland birds with his sons, grandsons and friends. Some of his favorite times were spending falls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He enjoyed more than 30 seasons there hunting and exploring the natural beauty.
Bruce found his true niche after retirement as an instructor, mentor, author, coach and shooter in the arena of Sporting Clays Shooting. He worked his way up to the NSCA's highest instruction grade, becoming a level III instructor and teaching over 40 instructor schools.
He was an excellent shooter in his own right winning and placing in many competitions over the years.
He took great pride in his years spent as a coach for the Ohio SCPT Clay Target Program for youth. He found great fulfillment in coaching these young shooters to become their best and cementing their love for the sport.
Perhaps Bruce's greatest gift was his simple love of nature and outdoor sports and his willingness to share his experience and knowledge and garner the same from others.
Bruce touched so many lives with his outgoing and affable ways he will be dearly missed.
