BONNIE L. VORISEK, age 90 of Sidney, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 5:54 PM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born on November 4, 1932 in Norfolk, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Donald G. Nesbit and Alice (Simpson) Nesbit Clark. On November 28, 1952, she married Edwin J. Vorisek who preceded her in death November 15, 2009.
She is survived by son, Edwin D. Vorisek of Solon, IA, and sister, Diana Hornby of LaJolla, CA.
Bonnie and Ed moved to Sidney in 1986 when he was brought here to open and manage the Campbell Soup Ramen plant. His long career as a Plant Manager plus school and the Army led the couple to a total of 23 moves, living in Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Germany, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. This led Bonnie to an "inadvertent" hobby as a decorator, fixing up all those houses.
Bonnie loved working and due to all the moves had quite a varied career, including Office Manager for a chain of photo labs, Doctor's receptionist, and Assistant to the County Assessor, in Iowa; Secretarial Pool in Chicago; Church Financial Secretary in Connecticut. Her final job was as a self-employed folk artist, selling her work in six stores, doing mainly custom painting and teaching art classes. She retired in 1985. She worked throughout at various volunteer jobs such as Hospital Volunteer in Nebraska and Iowa, with Little Sheltered Workshop in Illinois, and was a member of Altrusa in Ohio.
In keeping with Bonnie's wishes, no services are to be held. Cremation Services have been entrusted to Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Her remains will be interred with those of her late husband.
Memorials to honor Bonnie may be made to Ohio Living Dorothy Love for the employee Christmas fund. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cromesfh.com
