BONNIE JANE ASHFORD, 83, of Anna, passed away peacefully at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her residence. She was born on March 31, 1942, in Kossuth, Ohio, the daughter of the late George A. and Queen Isabella (Knouse) Koons. On February 14, 1999, she married Samuel Thomas Ashford, who preceded her in death on September 10, 2019.
Bonnie is survived by five children: Curt (Kathy) Cole, Traci (Keith) Alvarado, Trixie (Mike) Huddleston, Tonia (Robert) Rexrode, and Tom Ashford; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jenny Cole; and two brothers, Virgil and Bob Koons.
For 35 years, Bonnie served the Sidney City Schools as a school bus driver, spending the last 15 years training and educating other drivers. She loved working in her flower beds, tending her garden, and watching the birds gather at her feeder. Her two beloved cats, Nugget and Lilly, were constant companions. Bonnie often reminisced about the RV adventures she and Sam shared across the United States, Alaska, and Canada, a journey that spanned nearly four months. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 3 to 5 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the Ashford family at, www.cromesfh.com
