BOBBY LEE FORD, age 77 of Union City, OH passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at 5:44 AM at Everheart Hospice in Wayne Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1946, in Smithville, Mississippi, the son of the late Colie Edward and Rosa Lee (Frost) Ford.

On July 17, 1964 Bobby married his wife of 60 years, Theresa Marie (Davis) who survives along with four children: Angie (Larry) LeMaster, Robin (Zeke) Simunovic, Nikki (Dave) Hill, and Matt (Emily) Ford, grandchildren: Christi (Jared) Hummel, Katie (Reese) Walters, Trent (Brianne) Heitkamp, Larry (Maci) LeMaster, Brittany (Matt Bost) Ford, Melina (Davis) Preston, Gabie and Gracie Simunovic, Clayton and Ashlyn Ford, great-grandchildren: Aaron and Ava Hummel, Ty Houser, Braxton Ford, Jovie and Winnie Walters, Lexi Heitkamp, Henry and Daisy Preston, and Myles LeMaster, sister-in-law, Toni (Owen) Griffith, brother-in-law, Brad (Beth) Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Dwight Ford, father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Kay Davis, and grandson, Jordan Matthew Ford.

Bobby began coaching T-ball and little league baseball in Union City.  He went on to coach both girls’ and boys' basketball at Mississinawa Valley Schools, as well as taking the girls softball team to the state championships in 1988.  He was inducted into the Mississinawa Valley Hall of Fame in 2009 for his many years of coaching.  Along with officiating basketball throughout Darke County, he enjoyed playing on multiple softball and basketball leagues with lifelong friends.  Bobby loved his 1979 Oldsmobile and his many pets.

Throughout his life he worked for Sheller Globe, Coca-Cola, and Greenville City Schools.

Bobby was a lifelong Mississinawa Valley Blackhawk, as well as a huge OSU fan.  The family asks that you join them in wearing either MV or OSU attire as they honor him in a celebration of life at Mississinawa Valley's Nest Gymnasium on Saturday, February 17th from 3:00-5:00. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Alex Murphy speaking.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice, Greenville Ohio, or Mississinawa Valley Athletic Department.
