Barbara Lee (Bennett) Declerck

BARBARA LEE (BENNETT) DECLERCK, 84, of Conover passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 5:50 AM at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. She was born on May 15, 1940 in Corbin, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John Mays and Ollie Lee (Wells) Bennett.

She is survived by two children, Kim Overton of Conover and Jimi (Stacey) Overton of Sidney; grandchildren, Seth (Dori) Overton, Travis Overton, Victoria Overton, Kylee Overton, Natalie (Chris) Tabler, Chaz (Ashley) Caudill,  Gaige (Nikole) Overton, Ryan Hughes, Brendan McBride, Austin Fauver and Logan Fauver; great grandchildren, Talan, Dylan, Declan, Cameron, Lincoln, Lindyn, Sylvie, Vayda, Isabella, Maddex, Xander, Kingston mothers of Kim and Jim’s children, Michelle Moreaux Jessup and Christina Barga, siblings, Roy (Linda) Bennett, Iva Hutton and Rosa (Tim) O’Leary and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by husbands, Lawrence Overton and Robert “Bob” Declerck, siblings, Joy Dean Keith, John Bennett, Ivan “Ray” Bennett, Oretta Newman, Jane Stewart and Jackie Bennett and great grandson, Kaydan.

Barbara retired from Copeland Corporation after 25+ years working as a Machinist. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved people unconditionally, and always found good in everyone. Barbara was an avid animal lover and most times you would find her with a furry friend resting in her lap if it was not occupied by a grandchild. She owned many pets throughout her life, but her best furry friends were Benji and Gulliver. She loved nature, a sunny Spring day, bird watching and planting flowers. Barbara was a devout believer in God and many times her prayers touched Heaven. She faithfully attended First Baptist Church for many years.

Funeral Services will be held Friday May 24, 2024 at 1 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Pastor John Young officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney, Ohio. Friends may visit from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
