Anna L. (Abbott) Shaffer

ANNA L. SHAFFER, 81 of Sidney, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:08 PM at Hospice of Miami County. She was born on September 11, 1944, in Wiborg, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Hiram Shelby and Mabel Iona (Jones) Abbott. On December 24, 1960, she married Donald L. Shaffer who preceded her in death June 5, 2019.

Anna is survived by six children: Donna (Larry) Broughton, Damon “Scott” (Mellanee) Shaffer both of Sidney, Darla (Gerard “Jerry”) Williamson of Piqua, Deborah (Darren) Wildermuth, Dawn (William) Hageman both of Sidney, and Danny (Alicia) Shaffer of Piqua, two sisters: Ella Inman of Stearns, KY, and Lois Roberts of Maysville, KY,  sister-in-law, Barbara Abbott of Sidney, 15 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Kenny, Bill, and Tom Abbott, and sister, Ruth Abbott.

Anna worked as the front-end manager for CVS Pharmacy and was a member of The Potter’s House Baptist Church for the past seven years.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 9480 CR 25A in Sidney, with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time or service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
