Alice Marie Rice

ALICE MARIE RICE, 91, of Troy, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at 9:49 P.M. at Randall Residence of Troy. She was born on March 13, 1930 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ulysses and Anna Marie (Warner) Burnside. She was first married to Kenneth Ferree, Sr., who preceded her in death. She later married Wilbur Rice, who also preceded her in death.

Alice is also survived by eight children and their spouses: Kenneth Ferree Jr. of Troy, OH, Tony and Vicki Hicks of Bradford, OH and Jim and Elaine Fitchpatrick of Sidney, OH; Shannon (Dave Smith) Rice of Piqua, OH, Steve Rice of Columbus, OH, Teresa Casarez of Plant City, FL, Charles T. Rice, Lakeland, FL, Naomi Swearengin of Lakeland, FL. Grandchildren: Shawn Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Kate May, Craig Ferree, Krystal Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Jared Dyer, Lindsay Rice, Nick Rice, Alexandra Wisen, Victoria Rice, Jessica Jackson, Bridget Davis, Alisha Alasol, Justin Casarez, and Yolanda Casarez; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and two sisters Eva (Dan) Davis of Houston and Nancy Hickey of Indianapolis, IN.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Ferree; three grandchildren: Jimmy James Daryl Fitchpatrick II, Brandi Fitchpatrick and Sara Rice; and one great-grandchild: Lillian May; Four brothers and two sisters.

Alice proudly spent her life serving the Lord and her family.  She was a member of the Sidney First Church of the Nazarene.  Alice spent her lifetime being a homemaker sharing her passion of faith with all who entered her home.  Her many passions included reading, playing cards, board games, and enjoying the gospel.  Alice enjoyed her time with friends and family, but most of all she loved serving the Lord.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 1 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Rollison officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.
