ALAN LEE LAWS, age 62 of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 8:53 PM at Ohio's Hospice of Central Ohio after a private journey with melanoma cancer. He was born on September 6, 1960, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Marlin (Sphar) Laws of Sidney and the late Rev. Merle Laws.
On July 12, 1980, Alan married Donna (Walls) who survives along with their two children, Erika (Jason) Riegel of Monroe, MI, and Travis (Maggie) Laws of Nolensville, TN, and two grandchildren, Camden and Kynzie Riegel.
A devoted and loving husband, father, papaw, and son, Alan's family was at the very center of his heart. From attending concerts to watch his son play drums and listening to his daughter play piano and sing at church, to cheering at baseball games as his grandson pitched and visiting the ballet to see his granddaughter dance, Alan loved watching his family do what they love most. He and his wife, Donna, enjoyed traveling, shopping, having dinner out together, and experiencing new things hand in hand.
Alan lived out his passion for music and the Lord by ministering through song and preaching the Word. As a gifted songwriter and musician, he composed many songs that were sung with his friends and family as he spent over 40 years ministering in various capacities, the majority of which were spent traveling and singing as a family at churches and other events. Most recently, he served as pianist for the praise team at Victory Church in Tipp City.
In addition to serving as CFO at Milligan Construction Co. for 44 years, Alan was an active member of the business community in Shelby County, OH. He served as Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in 1995 and held an active role in many community events and fundraising efforts for local organizations.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Victory Church, 4645 S. Co. Rd. 25A, Tipp City, OH 45371, with Pastor Andy Warren officiating. A Private Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at Northtowne Church of God, 2008 Wapakoneta Ave, Sidney, OH 45365, and on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of service at Victory Church.
