Yvonne Cornett

YVONNE CORNETT, 71, of Jackson Center, passed away at 2:55 PM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Hospice Unit.  She was born on April 20, 1947 in Pine Knot, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Estil and Pauline (Farmer) Stephens.  On August 20, 1966 she married Tony Ray Cornett, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 18, 2009.

Yvonne is survived by son, Tony Ray Cornett, Jr. of Anna; daughter, Katina (Jason) Shaffer of Anna; two grandsons, Dustin Wayne (Siera) Cornett, and Derek Thomas Shaffer; great-granddaughter, Charlie Cornett; siblings, Linda (Bruce) Grimes of Burlington, KY, Doris Pryor of Pine Knot, KY, Juanita Waddle of Williamsburg, KY, Ronnie Stephens of Pine Knot, KY, and Ray Stephens of Edmonton, KY; sister-in-law, Juanita Stephens; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by sister, Sue Davis and brother, Owen Stephens. 

Yvonne enjoyed helping others, which was evident in both her work and personal life.  She worked in home health care and was an adult education teacher's aide at JVS.  She also worked as a daycare office assistant at Anna Creative Learning Center.  In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.  She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.  

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Solid Rock Pentecostal Church of God, with Rodney Reynolds officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or Solid Rock Pentecostal Church in Yvonne's memory.  Condolences may be expressed to the Cornett family at the funeral home's website, www.cromesfh.com
