William "Bill" Billing

WILLIAM "BILL" W. BILLING, 98, of Sidney passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 6:03 AM at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney. He was born on March 28, 1919 in Swanders, Ohio, the son of the late Webster and Agnes (Allton) Billing.

He is survived by one son, Thomas (Martha) Billing of Springfield, OH; three step-sons, Bob, Tom (Kris) and Doug (Melody) Abercrombie and special friend, Marilyn McCarthy. Bill was preceded in death by two wives, the former Virginia Snyder and Helen Abercrombie and one brother, Richard Billing.

Mr. Billing retired from Stolle Corp as a Chemical Engineer after over 39 years. He also worked for Koppers Co. for over 10 years. Bill was an Anna High School graduated of the class of 1936 and obtained a B.S. of Chemical Engineering from Ohio Northern in 1940. He belonged to the Iutis club and was a member of the Sunset Kiwanis for over 10 years serving as secretary and president and was a volunteer at the Alpha Center serving as treasurer. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church serving in the past as an Elder and Deacon. He loved to sing and was part of the church choir.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 12 noon at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Rev. Dianna Circelli officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders, Ohio. Friends may call from 10:30 am until the time of service.
