Victoria Jean (Gervais) Gatewood

VICTORIA JEAN (GERVAIS) GATEWOOD, age 72 of Sidney, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at 7:15 PM at Landings of Sidney. She was born on February 5, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Milton and Anne (Genise) Gervais.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia (Ricardo) Alonso of Westerville, and Holly (Stuart) Sitko of Rogue River, OR, father of her daughters, Richard Gatewood, four grandchildren, Steven and Patrick McClain, and Alexzandra and Anthony Sitko, and two siblings, Virginia Peterson, and Victor (Nancy) Gervais. She was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Richard Peterson.

Victoria earned her master's degree in education from Marygrove College, and taught English at Edison State Community College and Sidney High School.

Victoria was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 10:30 AM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney. Interment will take place in Oregon at a later date.
