SERAFINA "LA ABUELITA" QUEZADA, 77, of Sidney, passed away at 7:40 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1941 in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of the late Jose Bravo Zambrano and Catalina Reyes Limon, who survives.
On May 10, 1957 she married Elias Quezada, who survives along with seven children, Cervelio (Alicia) Quezada, Honorio (Elizabeth) Quezada, Leticia (Gonzalo) Cervantes, Bertha (Juan) Ayala, Hortencia (Rodolfo) Quiroz, Veronica (Arturo) Quezada, and Susana (Carlos) Benitez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and five sisters and brothers. She was preceded in death by three children, Francisco, Elias and Armida.
Serafina was a very sweet and loving person, known by many as "La Abuelita." She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, gardening and raising chickens. Serafina also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She attended Holy Angels Catholic Church. Most of all she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her greatly.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. A Mass of Christian will be held at a later date, followed by burial in Panteon Municipal De Degollado in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico.
