Rodolfo "Rudy" Valente Aguirre Martinez

RODOLFO "RUDY" VALENTE AGUIRRE MARTINEZ, 58, of Sidney passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 7:24 AM at his residence. He was born on May 21, 1960 in Xalapa, Mexico, the son of the late Rafael and Josefina (Martinez) Aguirre.

He is survived by two children, Jennifer (Andrew) Kellogg of Orlando, FL and Rafael Paul Aguirre of Troy; seven siblings, Carmela Faustino Hernandez, Josefina (Chay) Aguirre, Domingo Aguirre, Lupita Aguirre and Martin Aguirre all of Xalapa, Mexico, Marisa (Gary) Couchot and Maria Ines (Steve) Couchot both of Sidney; survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Rudy was preceded in death by four brothers and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Mr. Aguirre Martinez was employed by Cargill Inc. working as a Boiler Operator for over 35 years. Rudy will be greatly missed not only by his family but also by friends and neighbors. His number one priority was family and always family. As a child he developed a passion for soccer which continued throughout his entire life. He was a member of the first Sidney High School soccer team. He participated and supported any soccer related event. Being able to watch his beloved Mexico National Futbol (soccer) team this past World Cup was a highlight of his final weeks. Rudy enjoyed playing rock music on his guitar and harmonica. He loved all food but especially enjoyed the Mexican dishes of his childhood, with his favorite phrase, "always being Damn Good......Ahi Vamos Carnal!"

He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in which a Memorial Mass will be held in his honor Friday July 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Father Frank Amberger officiating. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday July 27, 2018 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to either Wilson Hospice or American Cancer Society in Rudy's honor.
