ROBERT "CLAY" HOELSCHER, 46, of Anna passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 4:25 PM after a sudden brief illness at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 4, 1972 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Gene and Carol (Miller) Hoelscher.
On September 20, 1997, Clay married the former Becky Ward, who survives, along with two children, Alyza and Madyson of Anna; three siblings, Missy Gill of Anna, Todd Hoelscher of Piqua and Sandy (Jim) Atchison of Findlay and nieces/nephews, Ashley Gill, Dylan Gill, Brendon Hoelscher and Morganne Atchison.
Clay worked as a corrections officer for the Shelby County Sheriff Office for 23 years. He graduated from Upper Valley JVS with a law enforcement certification. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and Reds fan. Clay was a member of the F.O.P. He loved to go to the shooting range and fish in his spare time. Clay loved doing family activities and spending time outdoors.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney with Pastor Kris Geise officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the funeral home from 4 PM to 7 PM.
