We were so saddened when our Christmas card to Nancy was returned today, and we realized she had passed away. Nancy played an important role in my life as a fledgling teacher at Whittier School and in the years beyond. She was a great support and a good friend. We will never forget her two visits to Oregon, the day we "climbed a mountain" together and her amazement at the wide, open spaces of the West. Our trips back to Ohio were never complete without a visit with Nancy. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.

To Nancy's family. So sorry to learn of her passing but know her last years were not good ones. Nancy wrote me a letter about five years ago telling me of her situation. I wrote her a letter thanking her for keeping me up to date. She was an important member of the Class of 1958 at Quincy High School. Two of her classmates phoned me to tell of her passing and offered to take me to the funeral. My heart attack and subsequent aortic heart valve replacement prevents me from traveling at this time. I send my deepest sympathy to all of her brothers and sisters. Carl Wirick

So sorry for your loss. i taught next door to Nancy at Northwood for several years and always appreciated her wisdom and sense of humor. Jane and Mary, she loved you both very much. Your support for her during stressful times went beyond sisterly devotion.

David and Bryan, so sorry to learn about your Mom. She was an awesome educator and fun lady. She would request me as her substitute teacher when she taught 4th grade at Parkwood Elementary, way back in the 70's....that was an honor for me to be requested. I visited your farm home, at the time, and u boys were out and about, while Nancy and I sat by the wood stove and enjoyed endless conversations. Such an intelligent and interesting woman😊. Many fond memories of her, my sympathies to u and your families.

We are so sad that Nancy isn't with us anymore. She was a spunky lady and a mean hand and foot player. I spent a lot of joyous hours laughing and playing cards during her NC visits. It's heartbreaking that the Golden Girl trio is one less. Much love to Dave & Karen, Jane, Mary & Liz. I wish I was with you all to say goodbye.
