Mary J. Henderson

MARY J. HENDERSON, 82, of Sidney, passed peacefully at 3:15 PM Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her home with her loving children by her side.  She flew home with the angels after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's.  She was born on July 5, 1935 in Clayborn, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mossie (Marlow) Teague.  Mary was first married to Paul Rutherford, who preceded her in death in 1965.  She later married Jim Henderson, who preceded her in death in 1998. 

Mary is survived by five children, Raymond Rutherford, Becky Stringfield, both of Sidney, Ronald (Karen) Rutherford of Las Vegas, NV, Rhonda Davis, and Joetta Lovins, both of Sidney; five grandchildren, Tyler Stringfield, Jason (Tessa) Stringfield, Ashley Rutherford, Dustin (Amber) Davis, and Aubrey Davis; eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy Rutherford; and two siblings, Pauline Ramey and Beryl Teague. 

Mary was a homemaker.  She was raised Baptist and grew up in LaFollette, TN.  She enjoyed her pets and in her spare time she liked reading and jigsaw puzzles.  She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren brought her the most joy. 

A Graveside Service at the family cemetery in LaFollette, TN will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Wilson Hospice Care, or the Shelby County VA in Mary's memory.  Condolences may be expressed to the Henderson family at the funeral home's website, www.cromesfh.com
