MARGARET E. (TAYLOR) SCHEMMEL, 83, of Sidney passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at 4:08pm at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy. She was born on March 11, 1934 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Pearl Fess and Enid (Shroyer) Taylor. On September 24, 1955, Margaret married Ralph Schemmel, who survives.

She is survived by four children, Marla (Keith) Cruickskank and Scott (Marlene) Schemmel both of Fallbrook, CA, Lynn (Steve) Willmore of Del Mar, CA and Kim (Eric Blanker) Schulze of Sidney; four grandchildren, Tyler Cruickshank, Derek, Alex, and Jordan Schulze; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Gracie Schulze and two half-brothers Richard and Dave Hull both of Sidney. Margaret was preceded in death by two brothers, Rusty and George, three half-brothers and two half-sisters.

Mrs. Schemmel retired from the Holiday Inn in Sidney as a Hostess for many years. She also worked at Harris Jewelers and Erhardts Flowers. Margaret loved to go shopping and spending time in her garden. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church for over 60 years.

Per the family wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Private Graveside service will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. There will be a Celebration of Margaret's Life to be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either: Hospice of Miami County 3130 N. County Rd 25A Troy, OH 45373 or Holy Angels Catholic Church 324 S Ohio Ave. Sidney, OH 45365 in Margaret's honor. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney.
