Lois (Evans) Couchot

LOIS (EVANS) COUCHOT, 87, of Sidney passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 5:20 PM, with her daughters by her side, at her residence. Lois was born on September 4, 1930 in Prairie Hill, OK, the daughter of the late William and Willie (Stephens) Evans. On September 30, 1955, Lois married Richard Couchot in which they were married for 50 years. Richard preceded her in death April 2006.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Rick) Phillips of Sidney and Dana (Jamie) Carey of Daytona Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Clay Mekelburg, Elli Withrow, Kannon Carey and Jessica Carey; six great-grandchildren, Caleb Mekelburg, Aleynah Mekelburg, Mylee Mekelburg, Kai Mekelburg, Carter Withrow and Wren Withrow and one sister, Wanda Shawler of Piqua. Lois was preceded in death by three siblings, Kenneth, Wynona and Nita.

Mrs. Couchot retired from Couchot Roofing in which she worked as a book keeper. She also worked as a telephone operator in her career. Lois started school at Prairie Hill School until she moved to Olustee, OK when she was in the 3rd grade. She then completed her education at Olustee School. Lois was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Sidney.
 
Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 10, 2018 at 3 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Pastor Tim Small officiating. Friends may call from 1 PM up until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois honor to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church.
