LEONARD RAYMOND DAVIS, age 90 of Sidney, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at 5:04 PM at Wilson Health. He was born on February 10, 1928 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Raymond H. and Olive (Baker) Davis.
On January 18, 1991 Leonard married Betty Beanblossom who survives along with one daughter, Tove (Gary) Russell of Sidney, two step-sons, Gregory and Steven McCammon of Richmond, IN, three siblings, C. Wayne (Marilyn) Davis of Columbus, Maxine Behr of Newark, and Donald E. (Shelby) Davis of Sidney, three grandchildren, Eric (Jodie) Russell, Sherry (Dale) Guinther both of Sidney, and Kristy (Adam) Batchelder of Anna, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Melvin, Vernon, and Vincent Davis, Bette Crumpler, Olive Jean Davis, and Wilma Smith.
Mr. Davis served his country as a US Marine Corps veteran during the Korean War. He retired from Wagner General Housewares Corp. after 47 years as a general foreman in the iron foundry.
Leonard was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed antique tractor shows and restoring Allis Chalmers Tractors. He loved working outside and spending time in his barn.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 12 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with grandson, Eric Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
