KENT S. TENNANT, 74, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:46 AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Oaks of West Kettering. He was born on February 3, 1944 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Meister) Tennant.
Kent is survived by three children, Nathaniel (Dianna) Tennant of Botkins, Tonya Tennant of Akron, and Tim Tennant of Troy; former wife of 23 years, Brenda Tennant of Botkins; grandchildren, Cohen and Naomi Tennant; and three brothers, Mark (Jean) Tennant of Alaska, Steve (Marcia) Tennant, and Joe (Karen) Tennant, both of West Liberty.
Mr. Tennant was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He held a bachelor's degree in education from Urbana University. Kent retired from the USPS of Springfield where he spent his career as a mail carrier. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and going to local high school football and basketball games. He also enjoyed breakfast with the regulars at the Bellefontaine McDonalds, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Grace Chapel, 500 Linden St., West Liberty, Ohio, with Pastor James Alter officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home in Sidney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America or to Pitch In For Baseball in Kent's memory.
