Joanne Marie (Geiger) Ludwig

JOANNE MARIE LUDWIG, age 79 of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 6:45 AM at The Pavilion Rehab and Skilled Care Center. She was born on October 13, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late George and Anne (Perry) Geiger.

On May 26, 1973 Joanne married Bruce Ludwig who survives along with their son, Josh (Melinda) Ludwig of Sidney, and three brothers, Edmund Geiger, George (Linda) Geiger both of Milwaukee, WI, and John (Teri) Geiger of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Geiger.

Mrs. Ludwig was a member of MENSA, and a Full Bright Scholarship winner, studying abroad in Rome and Greece. She received her Master's Degree in Latin from Notre Dame. She taught for many years and worked as a librarian at the Sidney, Jackson Center and University of Dayton Libraries prior to her retirement.

Joanne was an avid reader. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, and the Senior Citizens Club.

A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Amberberger officiating. A Committal Service will take place at St. Jerome Cemetery in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
