Jeffrey A. Deatherage

JEFFREY A. DEATHERAGE, 73, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 7:33 PM at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. He was born on June 19, 1945 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Delmar A. and Hazel O. (Jackson) Deatherage. On August 27, 1966, Jeffrey married the former Jacqueline Fortin, who survives.

Jeffrey is survived by two children, Rebecca (Anthony) Ahmed of Noblesville, IN and LTC Robyn Deatherage of Fort Knox, KY and two grandchildren, Zachary and Elijah. Jeffrey was preceded in death by one brother, Jack D. Deatherage.

Mr.Deatherage retired from ODOT as a Highway Maintenance Supervisor. Jeffrey proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 during the Vietnam Era. He was a Past Master of Temperance Lodge 73 Free & Accepted Mason Sidney Chapter 130, Sidney Council Royal & Select 70, Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, Sidney Commandery Knights Templar 46, Sidney Gateway High Twelve, AMVETS Post 1986, VFW Post 4239 and American Legion Post 217.He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 26, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with Rev. James Oates officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio with Full Military Honors presented by the United States Air Force and American Legion Post 217.  Friends may visit Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 4 PM- 6:45 PM at Cromes - Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney. A Masonic Service will follow the visitation at the funeral home.
