HARRY CLAY SWEIGART, 95, of Sidney passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:40 AM at his residence. He was born on April 10, 1923 in Mercer County, Ohio, the son of the late Jerry and Anna (Spicer) Sweigart. On September 21, 1979, Harry married the former Ida L. Wells, who survives
He is survived by six children, Harry Craig (Cheryl) Sweigart of Sidney, Barry Clay Sweigart of Centerburg, Chris (Barb) Fullerton of Logan, Rich (Kathy) Fullerton of Degraff, Mike (Sherry) Reinke of Indiana and John N. (Kristi) Reinke of Texas; twenty three grandchildren; thirty eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and three siblings, Bertha Drees of Dayton and Ada Groves and Vonda Smith both of Sidney. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary L. Cotterman, one daughter, Rebecca L. Boyer, three brothers, two sisters and his beloved dog, Buffy.
Mr. Sweigart was a Plumber in which he was one of the founding owners of Swiegart Brothers Plumbing and Heating in 1948. Harry also worked at Monarch for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 117th Regiment, 30th Infantry Division. Harry belonged to the American Legion Post 217, VFW Post 4239 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #1403.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday December 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Rev. Cherryl Styles officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney with full military honors presented by the United States Army and American Legion Post 217. Friends may visit Tuesday December 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Wednesday December 5, 2018 from 9:15 AM up until the time of the service.
