Harry Lee "HL" Metzler, Jr.

HARRY Lee "HL" METZLER, JR., 75, of Sidney, passed away peacefully at 2:05 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love.  He was born on March 1, 1943 in Jellico, Tennessee, the son of the late Harry L. and Ann (Murry) Metzler, Sr.  On September 21, 1963 he married the former Imalders Jones, who preceded him in death on December 5, 2011. 

HL is survived by his sisters, Doris Wagner of Bellefontaine, Pamela DeNise and Kathy Mertz, both of Sidney.  He was preceded in death by sister, Judy Davis.  HL had no children but loved his 22 nieces and nephews like his own.

HL served in the United States Army from 1967-1973.  He was a Vietnam War veteran.  HL was retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service.  He was a member of the Lima Missionary Baptist Church.  

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney.  Burial with military honors provided by the United States Army will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinsons Research in HL's memory.  Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made to the Metzler family at our website, www.cromesfh.com
