Gerald E. Sheaks

GERALD E. SHEAKS, age 72 of Sidney, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 3:41 PM surrounded by his family. He was born on September 11, 1946 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Earl "Whitey" and Olive Mary (Ferguson) Sheaks.

On November 27, 1970 Gerald married Shelby (Richmond) who survives along with four children, Debbie (Mike Harris) Martin of Cincinnati, Sharon (Rob Jackson) Steele of Lima, Kenny Martin of Sidney, and Scott Martin of Piqua, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Keith (Kathy) Sheaks of Deltona, FL, uncle, Gerald (Evelyn) Ferguson, aunt, Wanita Wilson, two nieces, three nephews and their families, four sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law. He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Sherri Martin.

Mr. Sheaks was a 1964 Sidney High School Graduate. He retired from Stolle Corporation after 31 years of service.

Gerald was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Bowlers Hall of Fame, and a USBC member for 46 years. He was also a member of the Stolle Golf League and managed Stolle softball teams.

Gerald's family would like to extend a special thanks to Wilson Home Health, Hospice of Miami County, Catholic Social Services, special neighbors, T.J. and Melissa Godwin, and special friends, Robert "Rocky" Stone, Martin Stapleton, and Rick Cavinder for their love and care.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 7 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with Chaplain Thomas Schwind officiating. Gerald's final place of rest will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney at a later date. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 PM until the hour of service.
