Evelyn Kerns

EVELYN E. KERNS, 97, of Sidney, passed away at 10:50 AM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Piqua. She was born on December 19, 1919 in New Knoxville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Frances (Kattman) Kuck. On August 17, 1965 she married Paul R. Kerns whom preceded her in death on August 31, 2002.

Evelyn is survived by five step-children; Vicki (Ron) Van Horn of Sidney, Thomas (Connie) Kerns of Sidney, Sondra (Bob) Maley of Piqua, Roxanne (Dave) Halenda of Florida and Randy (Linda) Kerns of Sidney, 14 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by step-daughter, Judy Salisbury, brother, Willis Kuck and two sisters; Agnes Hutt and June Meiring.

Mrs. Kerns retired in 1981 after 34.5 years of service from Copeland Corporation where she worked as an assembler. Evelyn was a member of Sidney Baptist Church and she loved kids and enjoyed her dogs and to crochet.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney with Pastor John Butts officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 1:00 pm until hour of service.
