Doris June (Young) Fields

DORIS JUNE (YOUNG) FIELDS, age 80 of Sidney, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 9:55 AM at her home. She was born on June 3, 1938 in Casstown, OH, the daughter of the late Walter and Clissie (Nason) Young.

On December 1, 1956, she married Robert Neer who preceded her in death on October 17, 2011. She later married Walter Fields on July 19, 1980. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2012.

Doris is survived by three children, Mike Neer of Tipp City, Greg and Kathy Neer of Traverse City, MI, and Debbie and Lonnie Brock of Sidney; four grandchildren, Megan Knox, Adam Brock, Riley Neer, and Kristin Elliott-Neer; five  great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Logan, Aden, Hunter, and Octavia. One brother, Donald (Betsy) Young Sr. of Middletown, OH also survives, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Gertrude Irvin, Roberta Richards, Russell Young, and two twin brothers who died in infancy.

Doris was a 1956 graduate of Miami Central and later became a school bus driver for Tipp City Schools. In 1981, she moved to North Port, Florida where she worked for various restaurants and performed landscaping duties for Bird Bay Village, Harbor Lights, and numerous local residents. In 2004, she retired and moved to Sidney, Ohio.

Doris enjoyed mowing yards and watching The Young and the Restless and the Golden State Warriors.

In keeping with Doris' wishes, her body will be cremated. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
