Curtis Lee Hughes

CURTIS LEE HUGHES, 68, of Sidney passed away at his residence at 5:05 AM Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  He was born on June 17, 1949 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late John Hughes and Stella (Taylor) Rowland.

On January 11, 1969 he married Diann Winemiller, who survives him along with four children, Terry (Jenni) Hughes of Houston, Rodney (Tonya) Hughes, Jennifer (Chris) Gillespie, and Bonnie Hughes, all three of Sidney; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Hughes.

Curtis was retired from Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen where he worked as gear inspector for 35 years.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and fishing.  Curtis also enjoyed cars, old and new, riding his Harley and he truly loved going to auctions.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and the rest of his family. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:00PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Pastor Fred Gillenwater officiating.  Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00AM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Russell Road Church in Curtis' memory.  Condolences may be expressed to the Hughes family at the funeral home's website, www.cromesfh.com
