Coyla "Corky" E. Hittepole

Coyla "Corky" E. Hittepole, 90, of Sidney passed away peacefully, Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Landings of Sidney.  She was born June 28, 1928 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lewis Roscoe and Edna Marie (Wilt) Kendall.  She married Dale E. Hittepole, who preceded her in death on October 15, 2003.  

Corky is survived by five daughters, Carol M. (Kent) Knight of Sidney, Nancy L. Hittepole of Bellbrook, Jan E. (Dana) Purifoy of Lancaster, California, Kathy J. (Bob) Vogler, and Karen S. (Thomas) Goffena of Sidney.  Other survivors are sister, Patsy Line Watkins of Lakeview, and brother-in-law, Erle (Connie) Loffer of Gahanna, and sisters-in-law, Betty (Ailes) Kendall of Anna and Marjorie Hittepole of DeGraff as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and family special friend, Barbara Balata.  She was preceded in death by son, David L., June 12, 2004 and brothers, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Frederick "Tunks", Lawrence "Bud" (Marjorie Behr), Joe, and Stephan (Kim Knight) Kendall, Gerald Line and Bruce Watkins. 

Corky was a graduate of Sidney High School, Class of 1946, a legal secretary for over 60 years, and a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed reading, watching golf and college football and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. 

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 3:30 P.M. at Cromes-Edward Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Rev. Jonathan Schriber officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:30 P.M. until time of service.  Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.  Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Wilson Health Hospice in Corky's memory.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at the funeral home's website, www.cromesfh.com.
