Carol Archer Obituary

Surrounded by her books and her bears, Carol Lee Archer traded her broken down earthly body in to Jesus for a brand new red sport model on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.

Carol was born Sept. 8, 1945 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Lee and Evelyn (Stahl) Archer. Even though doctors told her parents that she probably wouldn't live to see the age of 12, she not only graduated with the 1963 class of Fairlawn High School but attended Defiance College and graduated with a business degree from Northwestern Business College in Lima (now UNOH). She worked for 5 years for the Logan County Cancer Society then hired in as a school secretary for Fairlawn in 1973 and retired from there after 32 years of faithful service.

Carol was a member of GreenView UCC Church in Plattsville where she was the church treasurer for over 20 years. She was also a 50 year plus member of the Grange.

Carol joins her sister Janet Louise in heaven and is survived by brother in law, Sam Copeland of Lewistown, brother, Tom (Shelia) Archer of Sidney and sister, Kris (Dan) Geise of Fort Loramie, 11 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.

Carol resided at Heritage Center in Minster where she made many friends. Thank you to all who cared for her while she was at Wilson Health and at Heritage.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 at the Houston Congregational Christian Church (4883 Russia Houston Road, Houston) with Pastor's Jim Oates and Bill Halter officiating. Visitation will be held from 11-1. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions can be made to SCARF (Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation) or to Wilson Hospice.
