Barbara Y. (Fridley) Cotner

BARBARA Y. COTNER, age 71 of Sidney, passed away Thursday August 16, 2018 at 1:32 PM at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born November 20, 1946 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Toller) Fridley.

On April 18, 1970 Barb married Robert "Bob" Cotner who survives along with their four children, Jeffery Cotner of Troy, Christopher Cotner of Colorado, Craig (Holly) Cotner of Ft. Loramie, and Michelle (Travis) Scott of Columbus, three siblings, Betty (Dave) Campling of Piqua, Tom (Sally) Fridley of Waynesville, and Rob (Sue) Fridley of Sidney, and seven grandchildren, Kyle, Andrew, Lindsay, Max, Jack, Lily and Logan.

Mrs. Cotner was a 1964 Sidney High School graduate, and worked as a cosmetologist for over 50 years. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Barb enjoyed golfing with Bob, playing cards with friends, cooking for her family and spending her winters in Florida. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, attending their various sporting
and school events.

There will be a Celebration of Barb's life at The Oaks Club, 9900 Sidney-Freyburg Rd, Sidney Ohio on Friday August 24, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to "The Barbara Cotner Memorial Fund."  This yearly scholarship will be given to a local high school senior who has been accepted to Cosmetology School to go towards their tuition.  Please contact Barb's daughter Michelle at mcotner@gmail.com for the specific fund information or envelopes will be provided at the Celebration of Life.
