WILLIAM "BILL" C. DILBONE JR., 89 of Houston, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at 4:45 A.M. at Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney. He was born on July 17, 1928 in Piqua, Ohio, the son of the late William C. Sr. and Frances (Potter) Dilbone.
On November 18, 1949 Bill married Doris Valentine who survives along with three children, Mrs. Kathy (Henry) Wurth of Houston, Keith W. (Stephanie) Dilbone of Tipp City, and John E. (Eileen) Dilbone of Lebanon, one brother, Dr. Robert P. (Peggy) Dilbone of High Springs, FL, and two grandchildren, Reagan and Abigail Dilbone
Mr. Dilbone served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 7, 1946 until March 16, 1948. He retired from General Motors in the maintenance department and also served as a former fireman with the City of Sidney Fire Dept.
He was a member of Temperance Lodge 73 Free and Accepted Masons, the Valley Scottish Rite 32 Degree Mason in Dayton, OH, and attended the Normandy United Methodist Church in Centerville, OH.
In keeping with Bill's wishes, his body will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney.
