Sandra J. Gosnell

SANDRA J. GOSNELL, 72, of Hampstead, NC, formerly of Sidney, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Tuesday, November 21, 2017.  She was born on November 24, 1944 in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Henry Jenkins and Bessie Doseck.

Sandra is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Gosnell Walker and one grandson, Jackson Walker both of Hampstead, NC, step-mother, Mildred Jenkins of Sidney, sisters, Janet (Charlie) Robbins of Sidney, Brenda (Hurstle) Davis of Sidney, and Patty Bowersock of St. Marys, and brothers, Gary (Cathy) Fletcher, and Jack (Sandy) Fletcher both of Sidney. She was preceded in death by brother, Joseph Jenkins and step-brother, Johnie Fletcher.

Ms. Gosnell was a 1963 Sidney High School Graduate. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Warren Wilson College in 1977, and her Masters in English from North Carolina Central University in 1990. She retired as a high school teacher in North Carolina, where she resided with her daughter, Jennifer.   Ms. Gosnell had a keen sense of humor and a spunky nature.  She enjoyed visiting historic sites through her many travels in the states and abroad.  She loved animals, reading, writing, and the theater.

 
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco with Rev. Eric Welsh officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney.
