Robert "Bob" Edmund Jones

ROBERT "BOB" EDMUND JONES, 82 of Sidney, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:29 AM at The Pavilion Rehab and Skilled Care Center. He was born on July 7, 1935 in Marion, Ohio, the son of the late Carl and Katherine (Davis) Jones.

On February 16, 1980 Bob married Marsha (Chester) Cromes who survives along with one son, Heath (Shannon) Cromes of Sidney, three sisters, Carolyn Isenhour of Concord, NC, Bonnie Wilber of Mount Joy, PA, and Virginia (Ray) Hyatt of Easley, SC, four grandchildren, Trey (Jamie) Fletcher, Troy Fletcher, Jarrett Cromes, and Michaela Cromes, and two great-grandchildren, Leiyah Watkins and Ryker Cromes.

Mr. Jones was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, serving his country from 1954 to 1956. He was a graduate of Marion Harding High School, and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Otterbein College. He retired as a manager from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services.

Bob was a member of Sidney Senior Center, American Legion Post 217, and life member of VFW Post 4239. He enjoyed playing bridge and any other card game, traveling to the Smokey Mountains and visiting Nashville.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with Rev. Philip K. Chilcote officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM.
