Paul J. Newman

PAUL J. NEWMAN, 88, of Sidney passed away at 3:26 PM Monday, November 6, 2017 at Wilson Health.  He was born on November 9, 1928 in Feesburg, Ohio, the son of the late Earl and Hazel (Mattox) Newman. 

On August 13, 1949 he married Marcella (McElfresh).  Marcella preceded Paul in death on February 1, 2005.  Their three children survive, Kathleen (Thomas) Eshman of San Antonio, TX, Lisa Williams of Sidney, and David (Shannon) Newman of Sidney; nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

On August, 2006 he married the late Anna (Haynes) Morrow.  Anna preceded him in death on April 18, 2013.  Also surviving are four step-children, Samuel (Latitia) Morrow of Sidney, Ron (Bobbi) Morrow of Denver, CO, John (Amy) Morrow of Sidney, and Judy (Ron) Westerbeck of Port Jefferson; eight step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren; and a host of Christian brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces and friends.  One grandson, Jason Goshorn; one great-grandson, Ethan Eshman; and all of his brothers, Melvin, Russell, John and Robert Newman, and sisters Marie Lawrence and Lanor Jane Head preceded him in death. 

God was very good to Paul.  He said many times that he came from a loving and Christian family, that he married two beautiful and loving wives and mothers, and that their children married good mates.  He was very proud of all of his children and grandchildren. 

A Private Service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S.
