Matthew Knutson

MATTHEW KNUTSON, 39, of Anna, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on July 18, 1977 in Houston, Texas, the son of Patrick Knutson of California and Irene (Grace) Dunham of Florida.

On July 27, 1996 he married Betty Jo "BJ" Siler, who survives him along with their two sons, Matthew Siler Knutson, and Corbin Siler Knutson; mother and father-in-law, Jesse and Virginia Siler of Anna; brother, Eric Knutson of Florida; sisters-of-heart, Samantha (Tony) Macy of Sidney, and Lori (Mark) Barga of Anna; and grandmother, Evalee Branscum of Sidney.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Gladys Grace; and grandfather, Rev. Leamon Branscum. 

Matt formerly worked for the Ohio State Highway Patrol, retiring in 2009.  He more recently worked for the Ford Motor Company in Lima, Ohio as a material and parts handler.  He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and as a letterman, played for the Bearcats Football team.  He was a member of New Life Church in Port Jefferson.  Matt was an avid sports fan, not limited to his alma mater.  He also enjoyed playing golf and was an active father in watching his sons' various sporting events and activities as they grew up.  Matt liked taking rides with his wife BJ on their Harley, and spending time with his family, church family and friends.  He was wonderful son-in-law, and a dedicated and loving father and husband.   

Matt attended Sidney First Church of the Nazarene where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Chad Wilson and Pastor Earnie Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made to Knutson family at our website, www.cromesfh.com
